Cold-weather rides present their own challenges, particularly when it comes to protecting sensitive areas like my head and ears. That’s why I decided to try the Lumos winter helmet liner. Though designed for Lumos helmets, my primary concern was whether it would fit other helmet brands. After threading the straps through my non-Lumos helmet and making a few adjustments—such as extending the headband and strap length—I found that it fit comfortably. The padded ear flaps were particularly impressive, as they provided warmth without impairing my hearing, an essential feature for safe cycling. In practice, the liner performed exceptionally well, keeping my head and ears warm even on brisk rides. The neoprene material blocks wind effectively, while the ear flaps, equipped with Velcro for adjustability, can be customized for a snug fit. The outer band on the flaps allows you to secure them with your helmet straps, ensuring they stay in place and provide additional warmth. I noticed a significant reduction in wind chill, which made my rides much more enjoyable. The construction quality is excellent, and the liner feels durable and well-made. It fits comfortably under a cycling helmet and, despite its added padding, doesn’t feel bulky. However, while it works well for sports like cycling where helmets aren’t overly tight, I imagine the thicker ear cups could cause discomfort under a snug-fitting motorcycle helmet. Overall, this winter helmet liner is a fantastic addition for cold-weather cyclists or anyone engaging in helmeted outdoor activities. It’s versatile, warm, and functional, making it an excellent investment for maintaining comfort during chilly rides.

Die Kappe ist super, sie passt perfekt in den Lumos Helm und ist warm und angenehm zu tragen. Zwei Punkte Abzug für: - bestellt wurde XL, gekommen ist M/L, da es aber passt, braucht es nicht umgetauscht zu werden - die Verpackung war bei Lieferung geöffnet, der Karton innen ebenso und mit Klebeband notdürftig wieder verschlossen, evtl. durch Zollkontrolle - die Ersatz-Klettpads (Velcro), die gem. Beschreibung beiliegen sollten, fehlten völlig. - eine Möglichkeit, den Verkäufer in London dazu zu kontaktieren, fehlt hier.

Normally, I wear a beanie and a closed helmet when riding in cold weather. My head stays pretty warm but my ears, not so much. Being only 18F today, was perfect to put this liner to the test on a helmet with large vents. Took it on the gravel and FP trails for a 90 min ride avg 15 mph. My toes tips and a couple finger tips froze but my ears and head stayed toasty warm once I started stoking heat at about 2 miles. Another thing I like about it is the ears are "cupped"; they allow some space instead of smashing flat to the ears. I ride the trails with Apple EarPods and they felt perfectly comfortable. At first, the gap between the inner and my Oakley sunglasses was catching the full brunt of the zero windchill but I quickly got used to it. Would be nice if there was just a bit of elastic liner that extends out the front to cover the forehead a little bit more. Other than that, these are perfect for cold weather rides. Highly recommend.

I have been riding my fat tire bike around town in the snow in Michigan but my head was getting far too cold with the breeze and needed a better solution while ensuring I am still safe and wearing a helmet. I found this liner and gave it a shot and it's working great with my normal helmet! I know it is designed for a Lumos brand helmet, but it is working just fine so far on my normal helmet. I don't have the right velcro connections, so it takes a bit of effort to line it up correctly each time I put it on, but it hasn't been a bit deal since the straps go through the ear flaps and line it up most of the way already. I'm sure this could be done even better with some velcro, but it's working well for me and comfortable and warm and easy, so I have been happy with it as is!
